VALIDATION OF THE NATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL STANDARDS (NOS) FOR POULTRY AND FEED-MILL IN NIGERIA

A two-day workshop was organized by Nigerian Institute for Animal Science (NIAS) in collaboration with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) was held at Bolton White Hotels and apartments, Area 11 Garki Abuja

The workshop entailed the engagement of stakeholders and experts from the poultry industry, feed –milling industry, academia and relevant government agencies on the validation of national occupational standards (NOS) for poultry and feed-mill in Nigeria. The National Occupational standards (NOS) FOR POULTRY and Feed-mill was successfully validated in line with the National Skills qualification Framework (NSQF) for the training of middle level manpower in the Agricultural sector (Animal Husbandry) value chain.

In pursuance of its mandate in the industry, The Institute carried out an inspection/audit exercise of Hybrid Feeds and Biotin Limited, Kaduna (27th-28th September, 2021). This was in response to the two feed mills seeking renewal and registration of feed business premises
